  • I'm planning on working to about the week before I'm due, unless something happens sooner than that of course, or the doctor has something to say about it. :)

  • I was planning on working up until labor, but decided to give myself a little time. Today is my first day off and Im 40 weeks.

  • Last day of work is today :)  I honestly don't think I could go any longer, this week I got terrible SPD and can't even walk without moaning in pain if I can walk at all.

  • Waiting until I go into labor....just hoping that doesn't happen at work! Mentally though, I feel like I'm already partially checked out, but I blame it on all the leave preparation I am doing.

  • I own my small law practice so I am wrapping things up based on priority but won't stop until all the work is done (I'm laughing as I type that) or until I am too uncomfortable to be effective. Last trial is Tuesday which will be 37 weeks, then lots of client meetings and administrative baloney. I will be 'ready enough' if I give birth in a week (37w5d), but I would really like more time in the office so that I can truly be 'off' for a longer period of time.

I work at a large firm and, due to medical issues, have been off since mid-September and I'm due at the end of December!  I'm afraid when I go back I won't remember anything!! Haha

A lot of women won't have a spontaneous breaking of the waters before active labor begins, if at all.  So waiting for your water to break before leaving work is not a reasonable option.  I won't want to be at work long before my water breaks.  With DD#1, I was having contractions for over 12 hours before my OB broke my water...contractions rough enough that I would NOT want to be at work during them.  But she was late so I was at work on my EDD.  I will do the same with this LO.

  • I'm taking off one week before my due date.  The way my STD works I lose out if I don't take some time off before hand because I can get paid for up to two weeks before I deliver and then for 5 or 7 weeks after depending on delivery type.  If I don't take any part of the two weeks before I just lose it.

  • Other- I am stopping next week.  I am going to be a SAHM again after the baby arrives, so I really didn't see the point in working up until the bitter end.  Also, I have a horrible commute that will just get worse as we progress into winter.

This Exactly... I couldn't vote on your poll, since going into labor doesn't mean you water will break. Most of the time the doc breaks it when your already at the hospital!

  • I am working until the day before my repeat c-section. Otherwise I would work until my due date and if LO was late, I would just spend the extra time one-on-one with DD.

  • I voted other. Until my due date..which is tomorrow...which means this is my last day for 11 weeks!!!! I should be induced this weekend!

  • I would like to set a goal of 2 weeks before my EDD.  Last time I went out 2 months early due to back pain and not being able to sit in front of my computer for more than a couple hours without crying in pain.  So far with this pregnancy there has been little to no back pain so I'm just taking it day by day.
  • Probably until about a week before my due date. I planned to work until I was in labor last time around but things were wrapped up with my accounts and I was just SO uncomfortable, so I took off about four days before my due date. He was four days late, so I had a full week off before he came. It was kind of nice!

  • I picked "until my water breaks" because with my DS it did break - as I was getting ready for work that day - I was 39 weeks and 6 days.  This time same thing - I will work until my water breaks or active labor.  I work from home 90% of the time so my situation is somewhat different, but I'm considered self-employed/contract work so if I don't work I don't get paid at all.  We don't have FMLA or PTO or anything, so I want to get every check possible before baby comes.  And because my son is in "school" I get up and take him and pick him up every morning so I'd still be up and about.

I will limit my travel though as time gets closer, especially traveling to the main office which is about 45 minutes to an hour from my house, and about 2 hours from the hospital.
