Why is it that six and a half months ago I would have given my right arm just to be able to sleep for 4 hours (and not even all at once) and now I'm struggling on 4-5 hours? I got spoiled on DS's 9 hour stretches last week and now for the last two nights he's just up. Sleeeeeep, DS, sleep!!
Re: Sleep deprivation
I'm up waiting for DS to go to sleep... when I know he'll be back up in an hour. But I'm trying to space out these stupid endless night feeds, so it's a necessary evil to make myself tireder for a few nights.
I've never had 9 hour stretches, but he used to sleep until 9 instead of 630. I hear you on getting more tired, not less.

Lately I've been falling asleep while pumping at work and on the train to and from work. I try to stay awake but I can't fight it. DS has never STTN and his stretches are usually around 3 hours, once in a while he'll sleep a 4 hour stretch. I'm getting to the point where it might be time to try some sleep training. Although we both are getting over colds so I'm waiting until we are both well.
Right after I posted this DS fell asleep for 6 hours.
He was doing 3-4 max until we did sleep training. I highly recommend it! (But I agree with you: not during illness/teething/growth spurt.)
