IVF Update (C&P from my post on IF)

The embryologist called last night. Out of the 16 eggs that were retrieved yesterday, only 8 were mature. I was not expecting that at all, but honestly it explains a lot about why we've been having so much trouble getting pregnant.

This morning, the embryologist called again. All 8 eggs fertilized (with ICSI) but 2 were dividing abnormally. So we're down to 6 out of 16, in just one day. At this rate, I'm terrified I won't even have anything to transfer. I just want to cry!

    Don't get discouraged.  We had similar results but my RE reminded me that you really don't need a lot of them as long as you have a few good ones.  We had 5 fertilize and transferred 2 great ones and only had 2 to freeze.  But, I am pregnant right now so hopefully it is all irrelevant.  You really don't need a lot to have success.  GL to you!

    8/08 BFP resulted in m/c
    3/09 Polyp removed and dx MTHFR (both copies)
    6 Clomid cycles, all BFN
    5/09 IUI#1 with Clomid=BFN
    6/09 IUI#2 with Clomid=BFN
    8/09 IUI#3 with Clomid=BFN
    IVF#1 = BFN
    IVF#2 = BFN
    IVF#3 ET 2 Grade A blasts 11/16/11
    Beta #1: 485
    Beta #2: 2,495

    BFP #1: 12/2009 m/c 1/2010 BFP #2: 6/2010 m/c 8/2010

    BFP #3: 10/2011 ectopic 11/2011 (right tube removed, learned left tube was probably nonfunctional due to scar tissue from infection after m/c)

    3 failed IUIs, IVF #1: 18R, 12M, 10F, 3 poor quality 5d embryos transferred= BFP #4!!!!!

    Betas: 9dp5dt: 64 ~14dp5dt: 91 (expecting miscarriage, doubling time of 236 hours) ~16dp5dt: 200~18dp5dt: 500

    First Ultrasound at 6w2d revealed two sacs, only one with a heartbeat

    LK arrived after 42 weeks on August 14, 2013! Beautiful, healthy, and happy!

    TTC#2: IVF booked for April 2015

    Surprise BFP#5 February 19, 2015 EDD: November 2, 2015

    Betas: 10dpo: 10, 14dpo: 77, 17dpo: 270

    First Ultrasound at 5w1d showed a miracle UTE baby! And right ovary ovulation to left fallopian tube.

    JD arrived at 38 weeks on October 20, 2015.

    TTC #3: Since October 2017. BFP #6 July 2, 2018 EDD: March 16, 2019 [/spoiler]

    My report was simiar, I had 15 and only 7 fertilized (one started a day late and pooped out) I had 6 at day 3 and 3 that made it to day 6 even if they wernt perfect enough to free... they made it to day 6. You will have some love. They will be awesome too.

    Try not to worry, although I know it's hard.  Remember those 6 are the best ones and there are bound to be some super rock stars!!!  You will have some that make it transfer - I am sure!!

    I'm with PPs, don't get discouraged! Your fert report sounds about par with many other IVF ladies, in terms of percentages, and 6 at this point is fabulous! Try and focus on the good news: you've got six little embies steaming ahead! Keep it up little rock stars!

    Those really are not bad numbers at.all.  We had a similar pattern of fertilization, but like the wise Luna said, you should get some great embryo's out of them.  Like Luna, I, too, am pregnant and we ended up freezing 5 embryos when I didn't think we would freeze any.  Also the drugs can make eggs develop more quickly and thus they become duds, it really doesn't mean anything or that you are the problem.  Relax.  I will be hoping for a 5dt for you!
