off topic, but I had to comment on the name Elodie. My cousin married a girl named Elodie and I thought it was a made up name. I had no idea other people had heard of it.

In Spain Lola is just Lola, it's not usually a nn for anything. Although Dolores with the nn Lola is also common. We are considering it for Penelope, but I've seen it for Magnolia, Lourdes, and Lorelei.

On that tv show 'Pregnant in Heels' from last spring, there was a baby named Lola, full name Magnolia.

The daughter of a friend of mine is Ellodie. I hadn't heard it before then either. She's 5.

My name is Lauren and Lola is my nickname (from some people)...a little out there, but if you like Lauren/Laura/Laurie (none of which have obvious nicknames), Lola could be a nickname for them.

I've met a Viola before whose nn was Lola
