Insurance help??

I'm 23 and living at home with my parents. Just found out that my current insurance will not cover the pregnanacy (through my parent's insurance).

Does anyone know if Medicaid will cover me and not count my parent's income? (they are not supporting me in paying my bills but just a roof over my head).

 Also I'm hoping to get a new job at Community Hospital and get on there insurance?  I just don't understand if I can get the pregnancy covered through them or if they will considered it a pre-existing condition. Anyone know the rules on this?

 Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I do believe it will be looked at as a pre-existing condition thru group insurance. I don't know about the medicare question though.

Every insurance company (and even different plans within the same company) are different so this is going to be a hard question for anyone to answer. Your best bet is to call the companies, including Medicaid, directly to find out what your coverage options will be. Good Luck!

Yes, you are eligible for medicaid. I had pregnancy medicaid for my first two pregnancies. I lived with my parents and their income did not count. Even if you get insurance through your work, you can still have medicaid to cover what your insurance doesn't. Every county is different (I think) I live in St. Joe county and the process is actually quite easy....and it goes back 4 months to cover any bills you may have incurred before you had insurance.
