Child Support

I have not given birth to my daughter yet but was told she may be arriving early part of January and possibly before Christmas. Me and my SO just ended our 9 year relationship. He says he is going to be there and be supportive to our daughter when she is born by supportive I mean monetary, visting and spliting up time with her etc. and though I really dislike him at the moment for the most part I believe him as I was with him for 9 years and he isnt really the dishonest type and NORMALLY he does what he says.Should  I cover all bases anyway and file for child support in case something goes awry or wait and see how things play out?

    DEFINITELY file as soon as she's born. You need to CYA! (cover your @ss!)

    I'm just saying, the CS process takes so long, it's best to file immediately. And you want to make sure everything is truly fair and you have it in writing.

    ABSOLUTELY....my ex and I were awesome together and I was SURE I wouldn't have a problem even with the way we split but I am actually about to post how frustrated I am that I have had no support for almost a year now.  Plus you want someone to decide for you two how much should be given because both your ideas of support could totally be different.  And get a custody agreement too.

    Yes file for t!!!! I made the mistake of not filing for it right away. My ex-SO was all excited ad said he was going to send me stuff and help me out and move up there or move me down there....5 months into my pregnancy he wanted me to get an abortion or adoption....now he won talk to me and wants nothing to do with my DD....File for it...people change.....
