Hi all!
I've been quiet lately but avidly following discussions. ![]()
I have my first PCP appointment today! I'm excited to get this process started but also nervous about opening the conversation. Our options for a doctor in rural south Texas are limited, and I'm hoping that this doctor works out.
Any advice is welcome...I'll post back and let you all know how it goes!

Re: Getting nervous...
Soooo....
I like the doctor...he gave me opportunity to ask questions, which I appreciated. As the daughter of a doctor myself, I'm very picky about beside manner.
The practice has a bank he works with exclusively, which would kind of limit our options for donor selection but helps keep the cost of the process down overall. We'd still be able to select things like race and level of education, which are the most important to us.
He said he usually does ICI's with frozen semen, and does 3 cycles before stopping to re-evaluate if I don't get pregnant after 3 months.
I'm supposed to go back after tracking my cycle for a couple of months to make sure I'm ovulating. Everything looks normal on the surface, though--yay!
Also--found a great LGBT family lawyer out of Austin who specializes in 2nd parent adoption. Bonus!
I'm so excited to get started!
