New pump or replacement parts for #2

I have the Lansinoh Double Electric and it worked well for the 10 months I used it with #1.  To get replacement parts would cost around $40.  I can get a whole new pump for around $100 with coupons I have.  I'm thinking it might make sense to just buy the whole new system.  I'll be annoyed if I spend the $40 on replacement parts and then the thing poops out after a month or two of using it.

WWYD?

  • I would prob. get another in your situation.

  • I hate spending money on things I don't have to so I'd probably do the replacement parts. If it DOES work, then I've saved $60!

  • I have the PISA and was planning on just getting new parts.  I would think the motor would hold up fine over time, so why not just save the $60?
  • I am going to use my same pump.  I have a medela PIS that I got from a friend.  This will be the pumps 5th baby!  I just got new little flaps.  I am using the same tubing.  If it dies, I will buy a new one.  Is your tubing messed up?  If not, you can just get those microwave sanitizing bags and put them in there and reuse them.
  • I did all new replacement parts for #2 and 10 months later it is still going strong! (I EP for #1 for 8 months and still going for #2) So I know they last a long time!
