stop working?
I know it's been asked before but I'm trying to figure this out. I'm meeting with my assistant principal in a few weeks and I know he's going to want a date when I'll be out.
This is assuming you weren't put on bed rest and stopped working simply because you couldn't physically be on your feet anymore. How many weeks?

my OB told me from day one to expect to leave work between 24-28 weeks, even if all was going well - to avoid PTL. My job has me on my feet a lot of the day (much like teaching- i used to teach)... and he didn't want me risking it.
I left work at 27w - it just worked out well with the end of the quarter... and took it easy the next 11 weeks before i had my c/s at 38w1d without any signs of labor. I credit leaving work early for that - i had PTL with my singleton at 32w... and not having it with the twins was a shock, so I think taking it easy was the right move for me.
I work for a family business so my situation is a little different, but I chose to start working from home at 26 weeks. I realistically could still be working (at 30 weeks) as long as I am sitting, but if i'm on my feet more than 30 minutes at a time i get really tired and tons of pressure. It all depends on if your doc puts you on bed rest or not too.
Best of luck!

Thankful for every day
i worked full time up until 30 weeks, then only went in for classes (i'm a professor). i started some of my classes online at around 35 weeks and then had a scheduled induction at 37wks, 6days.
i was contracting by then, but only dilated 1 cm and 60% effaced. the ankle swelling started around 36 weeks and was noticeable at 37 weeks! my OB wanted me out of work at 28 weeks but i wasnt ready until about 35 wks.
