I know. There are worse things than this. But it is REALLY bumming me out. Big time. DD's daycare does this really cute Christmas night. She does cookies, has the kids do songs they rehearsed (with cute hats they made) and Santa comes to visit-he's a really good one too!  I have a last minute business trip I have to take, and I will almost have to kill myself to get back in time for it, and that is assuming everything runs perfect and on time. In the airline business. 

UG. I know dad's miss this shiiit all the time and no one cares, but I just know that I'll be tearing up at the time they're doing the performance (I'll be flying back). If I time it right I can race there to socialize for 20 minutes, but after Santa left and everything is over. But I feel like a shittty deadbeat mom right now.

yes, DH will video so if nothing else, I'll have the video.  Thank God for technology!

You are not a shitty deadbeat mom.  You are a mom who is working hard to take care of her family.  

DH has started a new job out of state, and the kids and I aren't moving until after Christmas.  He will be missing our kid's birthday party AND their Christmas programs.  

Maybe you can let her show you the video afterwards.  My kids LOVE to watch videos of themselves.
