Preemies

What are your thoughts?

So my boys are the only babies on my side of the family and everyone will buy them a Christmas gift (it's a lot, but it is what it is).  Everyone keeps asking what the boys want or need.  Since they're not old enough to know what they want, I was thinking of sharing a wishlist with everyone.  We're asking for diapers, but would like a few toys as well.  I don't want to have to deal with returns or exchanges after Christmas.  All of this to say....

If you were buying a gift for someone's baby (who would receive LOTS of gifts), would you appreciate a list or would you be offended?

  • I'm a fan of wish lists.  I always encourage my cousins to make wish lists for their babies.  It makes it easier for the rest of us!

  • We made an Amazon wish list and emailed it to my parents, grandparents and DH's dad. We're in the same boat where we're pretty much the only grandbabies in our families, EVERYONE wanted to know what we wanted!

  • Some ladies in my office were just talking about the Amazon wish list for their grandkids and how much they liked it.
  • i think its a great idea! i know i feel the same way - if im going to buy a gift for someone i always make sure its something they want or need vs my own personal choice.

  • I made one for C and sent it out to everyone. Then I got replies from the whole family telling me they already picked stuff out and are sticking with their choices. I'm bracing myself for lots of things we don't really want but will have to keep knowing my ILs... Confused
  • I love wish lists. Its a lot less awkward then trying to explain why you're returning something or being stuck with stuff you don't want. I'd prefer to know what someone wants than to guess and have them hate it!

  • I wouldn't be offened... & I would actually ask if someone wanted something specific, especially were kids are concerned or someone who I know is getting alot of gifts.

My Godmom texted me a few days ago to ask what the twins wantef ro Christmas, and I gave her something specific (My Pal Scout & Violet). I did the same with MIL, listing specific things that we would like or need. (Totally off topic, this was a waste of time with MIL because even though she asked, she will just do what she wants and buy the opposite and she also informed me that any "duplicate" gifts she would be taking for her house...that we never visit. Yeah I don't think so...any way sorry I just had to get that off my chest).

  • Wish lists make me happy!!!! When I'm getting someone something I prefer to pick something off of what they requested - then they can be surprised by which thing I chose :D
