Talk to me about LeapFrog, Vtech etc

I know nothing about these and am wondering if they are worth it for 3 1/2 year old and if they are what is better?

    we are getting our 4.5 and 3 year old the LeapPad.  We haven't tried them yet, but they love playing on our iPad and iPod, so we thought we'd try these.  They look like fun. As for which is better? I'm not sure, but the LeapPad has a lot of features like a camera, downloadable apps, and games.

    we bought our 4 year old daughter a leapfrog explorer last year. and she still plays with it but every time we go in the toy aisle she gets really attached to the vtech. i picked the leapfrog because there are so many more opions in games and you can download books and other games on to it. plus there is a camera attachment that comes with more games and you can use leapworld if you let your child play on the computer.
