3rd Trimester

Bras tight at almost 32 weeks :-(

I bought a couple of new bras around 15 weeks because I couldn't stand them anymore, and I was hoping these would make it to the end.  Anyway, these are now hurting!  The underwire is especially bothersome as it's cutting into my underarm.  I think it's because my ribcage is expanding.  I don't know whether I should just suck it up for the next 7 weeks or try to find something really cheap.  I really don't want to spend money for only a few weeks.  I'm already in a 36 DD so bras aren't cheap!

Re: Bras tight at almost 32 weeks :-(

  • I ditched the underwires at like 15 weeks.  Find some nursing bras sans-wire.  They feel like HEAVEN.

  • Same prob - I'm going to get an extender and make do...or go on bedrest so I don't have to wear one and let them flop down into my armpits as nature would apparently desire...

Oh and I haven't used underwire since 1st tri...still same prob...

  • Try one of the extenders first! That is what I did and it has worked fine!! And they are much cheaper than a new bra.
  • Ooh an extender.  That might work, except I don't know if that would help with the whole wire under the arm problem.  Do nursing bras really hold you up?  I haven't worn a bra without underwire in over 12 years!

Ditto!  They are really comfy and add lots of support- and you will use them after!

  • I wish I would have heard of this extender thing.  During the last 9 months, I've bought 5 new bras.  2 were 36 D, and the next 3 were 38 D.  This extender would have saved over $60.

I recommend the bravado! ones and the Elle McPherson ones.

  • Aren't you worried that the nursing bras won't fit after your milk comes in?  I keep hearing your cup size really changes.
  • are the cups to small or the band across the back?  If it's the band, try going to target and just getting some bra extenders for $7.  There are 6 in a package and work wonders!!

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. My cup size never changed, just the width!

  • I ditched the underwire a couple of months ago.  It sux, but I just couldn't handle it any longer!  Try some bra extenders first.
