Evergreen childbirth and other classes?

Hi All,

I know this may have posted a long time ago, but I can't seem to find it. Has anyone done a bunch of the classes at Evergreen Hospital? I met with my doctor last week and she suggested I sign up ASAP as they fill up pretty quickly, but then I went to the site and noticed, there are not only Childbirth prep classes, but additional classes about breastfeeding, baby safety and bringing baby home, pelvic health, and several more.

Have any of you done more than just the childbirth classes? My doc suggested I go in March (2 mths before due date), but do you think earlier is ok for some of them (in case I have no other free dates?)Would you recommend any of the particular other ones? There is no cost listed on the extra ones, but was there a cost to pay? Should I have my husband come to each and every class I sign up for there?TIA

  • I took the labor and delivery class. I took it in month 7, due to our work schedules.

I also took the baby care class, I think it would be helpful at month five or later. That one is 75 dollars. It was worth it for me because we learned a soothing technic we didn't know that is very effective in getting DD to stop crying. DH learned more than me in that class so bring him.

  • I didn't take classes at Evergreen, but if you plan on nursing a breastfeeding class is great info.
