One of DS nurse's said to look into the swaddle blankets for him. She said that they are bigger and will keep him warmer the the receiving blankets from the hospital, even coming from the warmer.
We didn't use them in the NICU but were given a few once he was discharged. I liked them. You should see if you can get some second hand if you're not sure about them.
We just used receiving blankets to swaddle DD in teh NICU - we also used to cover her with a blanket also - occasionally if she was coldish the nurses or I would double swaddle her (using two receiving blankets) - I got some after dishcarge and honestly use them for everything BUT swaddling! I use them to cover the stroller, lay out for playtime, etc
Edited to add we didnt use the NICU/hospital provided receiving blankets, we used our own store bought ones that I found were way warmer then the hospital ones.
We used a fleece swaddle me in the NICU. It was pretty big but we swaddled him with a receiving blanket underneath. It definitely helped when he was first in an open crib and was by the window!

We just used their flannel receiving blankets. We used two of them and some times trifolded a third and wrapped that around him too. He looked like a ball because of so many blankets. LOL!

We used Aden and Anais blankets in the NICU as soon as she was in an open crib. Before that we didn't swaddle since she was in a temp-controlled environment. The blankets were huge but we folded them and it worked great. We used them until about a month ago when we finally had to stop swaddling-well worth the money.
