Intro....modified bed rest

My fraternal twin girls official due date is 3/12/12..Currently, I'm 26 weeks 2 days..Last week after hitting a deer with my car and a few contractions my OB thought I was dialated 1 cm so he sent me down to L&D.  After 8 hours of monitoring for contractions and a cervical length of 4.3 cm, they sent me home.  I was on limited activity but luckily I already had a week off because of Thanksgiving break (I'm a teacher).

Fast forward to today with my appointment with the specialist.  The girls are doing great and weigh just above 2 lbs each.  However, my cervical length is now down to 2.6 cm.  That's a 1.8 cm change in a week.  So I'm on modified bed rest at home at least until next week when I go in for another check.  I guess I'll be lurking/posting more often over here....

Hi from another March momma. Sorry your here too. My cervix is being a bit uncooperative as well. Hope bedrest does the trick for you!

I was a March momma too!  Now I'm on bedrest until 37 weeks for pre-eclampsia.  I hope your stay here is long and uneventful!

I'm sorry you are here, but welcome!  I'm new to this board as well.  I hope the bed rest does the trick and you cervix cooperates for you.

Glad you and the girls are OK after all that...will be praying for a long, closed cervix for you.  I'm a victim of a compromised cervix too - they can be dynamic so hopefully you're a little longer next week.  Take your bed rest seriously.  There's nothing more important than keeping those twins cooking a little longer!

Sorry you are here! I am a teacher as well and was placed on modified bedrest at home due to absent/low blood flow to umbilical artery at 27 weeks.  At 30 weeks I was sent to the hospital for modified bedrest until delivery due to flow problems and now low fluid.  Try to make the best of it and enjoy being lazy! i have been knitting, catching up on tv, and reading... I have to say that I probably enjoy it way too much and will probably have a rude awakening after I return to school!!!
