Maternity winter coat?

Thought'd I'd ask on here. Does anyone have a warm (NOT a pea coat) winter maternity coat I could take off your hands? Get it out of your house an keep my baby belly warm? :)

I am almost 30 weeks, so I cant justify spending a bunch of money on a coat. Why not see if anyone has one they would want to sell to me on the cheap?

Thanks!!

Re: Maternity winter coat?

  • Loading the player...
  • Maybe try Bellies to Babies.

    I had my 1st in Feb and am due in Feb with my 2nd. I've just made my current coats work without buttoning them in the end because I am too cheap to buy a maternity coat:) Hope it works this time around too.

    I love your green shirt in your 28 week pic!

  • I moved the buttons out on my coat to give me more room when I was pregnant.  What about checking thrift stores for a coat a size bigger or so than you normally wear.

  • I was going to say that I have a pea coat from Motherhood but I see that isn't what you want. I agree with trying Bellies to Babies.

  • I just sold one to Bellies to Babies last week! I asked if they had any in store (for my sister in law, needed a different size then what I had) and she said they didn't at the time, they keep a list and call people if coats come in. So maybe call before you go. Old Navy had one online on clearance for just under $30. You could call the Old Navy stores around here (EP, MOA) and see if they have any. GL!

  • I'd go with a Men's tall coat since the proportions are different than for women's...  I ended up having to purchase a Carhartt jacket to find something in my size that was warm and not a peacoat...  Unfortunately, I should have just gotten the Peacoat since they're SO much easier to adjust!

    I'd check Burlington Coat Factory or heck, even Walmart to see what they've got that might work.  Just because you're PG doesn't mean you're stuck with only a maternity jacket...

  • So kinda funny B2B just sent out this email & wow what a great idea

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Keep your old jacket, just add a customized insert in to expand it. Save your money for your nursery instead and still look great! We have hired a professional seamstress to make jacket inserts.
    They are $30 each, and we customize it to your jacket. Just fill out a couple simple questions on the left, or bring in your jacket and we can fill it out for you. Your insert will be ready the next day.
    We offer wool inserts with buttons, and zippered fleece inserts. Both styles are lined and you can pick your color to match your jacket - or it can stand out by picking an opposite color.
    We have samples on hand if you would like to see one first. Stay warm this winter!
    Currently the turn around time is one day, however this may increase depending on demand.
    If you would like one before the weather turns, email Crystal with your Jacket info atCrystal@BelliestoBabies.net, call the store at (612)869-0164 or come in!
    Thanks ladies, and sorry to post and run. I actually saw that email too, and had to LOL!  What a fab idea, I am looking into it. I love B2B and shop there often.
    And thanks, the green shirt is a Lilac brand, I freaking love it, so mush I have been looking for another one, different color.  I got it from mamabargins.
