Black bean cooking question

I have this mix,

I don't have time this week to cook it, and I thought about throwing it in the crockpot with a sausage.

Do you think that would work or would the beans get soggy?

Could I do it without cooking the sausage first? Or should I cook and slice it first?

Awesome. Thanks! The recipe just says to boil them for a little while (an hour? 30 minutes? I can't remember right now) but I had thought you wanted to soak them. Now I'm hungry for them after reading that blog!
