If you have more than 2 children (somewhat close in age)

What kind of cars do you have and how do you fit all the carseats? I'm not sure if we will be having another child or not.  However, if we do, I'm wondering if you can do 3 carseats in most cars.  We have a Nissan Altima and a Nissan Murano.  There doesn't seem to be a ton of extra room in the back w/ the 2 carseats we have.  DS1 will be in a booster soon, so maybe that will help?  I'm just wondering if having a 3rd would mean we would have to get at least 1 new car. Thank in advance!

  • I don't know about your particular car, but there are people on here who have fit 3 carseats across in a car, with the right carseats.  Even if you have to buy new seats, that's certainly cheaper than buying a new car.

We have a Honda Odyssey.  DS1 was 3 when my youngest was born.  He was in the very back, with the baby and toddler in the second row.  Now, DS1 and DS2 are in the 3rd row.  We keep one captain chair in the second row folded down, and it's easy to pop back up again if someone needs to ride with us.  There's a ton of cargo space, even with the 3rd row in place.

  • I went with the 3rd row.  I have a mazda 5.
