How many ounces of fluids should I be drinking each day?
Also, I realize that I'm not drinking much water. I'm having horrible m/s and have a weird aversion to water! I've been focusing on gatorade (to help replenish some electrolytes lost by vomiting) and I've also been drinking a lot of 7-up and fruit juices. Is this sufficient?
Do I need to be worried about my sugar intake? I haven't been too concerned about calories because I've been struggling to keep food down and have already started losing weight.
Re: Drinking fluids - how much and what types?
I went through that same thing! I think it was because I had a weird taste in my mouth and water just amplified it. Propel water flavoring really helped me.
Im not drinking enough! But I try to have a big glass of water every day on top of my Sierra Mist, (occasional) Caf free pepsi, and million bowls of cereal to chase away the heartburn. I drink alot of apple juice too.
Sometimes I feel guilty (esp at work) because Ill all of sudden be absolutely dying of thirst and I know I let my body go too long.
Edit: I wouldnt be too concerned about calories. We need a bit extra anyways esp with morning sickness

I'm not really counting ounces. I usually drink a 32 oz bottle of water (I only know the amount because it says it on the size of the bottle I use
a day and anything else I can, usually some sort of juice. I try to do Fruitables juice or V8 juices because I feel like they have more fruit and/or veggies in them than other juices.
Agree with PP about Bolthouse smoothies as well, I love them!
I've also been eating a lot of fruit, so I feel like I get a lot of water intake from those as well. I've been eating a lot of apples, pears and clementines.
After just getting back from the ER from being dehydrated, doctor told me if you are struggling with m/s (what ive been struggling with and cant stomach water) and can't drink much water, drink gatoraid or flavored water, anything to keep you hyrdated. They just kept telling me "just keep fluids in you as much as possible, if it's only gatoraid, then thats what it is for now, but make sure you drink drink drink!"
I drink 3 liters of fluids a day. So 12 8oz servings. I drink mostly water and 1% organic milk. Occasionally fruit juice (orange + calcium) sprite or cranberry ginger ale.
Before pregnancy I would drink mostly water, milk and iced tea with splenda with the occasional diet coke. But I am completely avoiding caffeine (except chocolate) in the first trimester and also artificial sweeteners. So I'm trying to not drink too much sugary stuff (regular soda/juice).
