lighthead/dizzy post delivery?

i just had our son via c-section a little over 2 weeks and have been very lightheaded and dizzy for the last week or so. i don't remember experiencing this with our daughter (who was also a c-section). i am breastfeeding but am eating constantly-it doesn't seem like lack of food is the problem b/c eating never makes it better. i am also off of pain meds so that's not it either. just wondering if this is normal or common?

  • Did they check your hemoglobin or iron levels? You could have low iron levels.

  • I almost passed out in the discharge class before we were gonna get to go home, and any other time I overextended myself in the few weeks following. Perhaps it a mix of the pain meds, fatigue, your body just going through the wringer, maybe even the need for a bit of food. It does get better, just be sure to take it easy for the next few weeks and eat every couple of hours.

ditto this.  After my induction and vaginal birth with DD I felt this way.  They gave me extra iron supplements due to excessive blood loss.
