can I use these for a Xmas card?

Since my attempt at a Christmas picture was a colossal fail, I am wondering how I could use these pics of my kids from BILs wedding. But what could I use as a caption? Naughty or nice for the last two is all I can think of but I don't love it because DS is pretty nice too :). Unfortunately the photog didn't get any great pics of them looking straight into the camera or any family pics of the 4 of us (and I forgot to ask) and clearly they are in a wedding in these pics. I do adore them though and would love to use them somehow (particularly the first one).

Re: can I use these for a Xmas card?

  • put the 1st one on the front of the card with the caption- "you never know when Santa is watching" and then on the inside put the silly one of DS and the good one of DD and say "he sees you when you're bad and good, so be good for goodness sakes!"

idk. just a random thought. :) Love the pics though, they are super cute.

Thanks rb! And amiamish...hmmm, maybe I'll play around with that! I wonder if I could find a card that has something cool on the right where they are looking.

WORD.  Holy cow, your DD is beautiful and your son is adorable.

The bottom of the first one could be cropped, and you can't tell it's a wedding picture at all.  The white sand actually looks like snow, at least from what I can tell on my screen.  If you cropped the 3rd in the shape of a circle (to help cut out more of the people in the background), plus the 4th pictures into a collage, maybe?  Beautiful pictures.

  • I love the b&w one.  Beautiful children.

  • Instead of naughty or nice for that one of your DS - maybe you could do something with joy of the season or one of those type phrases?  Or something with merry?

Like this Tiny Prints card where the front of the fold is Be Merry:

Or like this one, you could use his pic for the JOY page and pick something else for the front:

Or you could do his picture on the front and one of your daughter and say something like "may your days be merry and bright" and on the inside use the pic of the two of them w/ "all your christmases be white" or whatever the lyric is since the sand gives off a snow feel.

This is cute too - you could easily use cheer for M and do joy for O.

with the pic of them in the middle?

Definitely check out the TP trifold cards for ideas... I think that you could find a lot to work with from those, even if you don't use any of them.

  • Um, why are your children not modeling?!?  GORGEOUS!
  • While they are adorable photos, I am going to be the dissenting opinion and say no.

None of them are looking at the camera and they look too weddingy for a Christmas card to me.

  • Thanks everyone for your opinions! I played with them last night and came up with:

    https://www.tinyprints.com/product/28789/flat_holiday_photo_cards_edgy_name.html

I used that one in a square and put the pic of them together cropped on the front (so it was less obvious they were in a wedding). I took off the last name on the left and put "We always try our very best..." in red on the bottom caption. On the back I had her pic with "to be nice" under and his pic with "but sometimes..." under. Then I was going to put a holiday greeting and family name on the bottom. I like it because many of the people we sent the card to were at the wedding and the kids tried SO hard to do a good job as they walked down the aisle so I think it would be okay if they made the association with the wedding. And those that weren't, I think it looks like they are just being sweet. I just HAVE to use that picture (although I understand AL's point of view). If you look closely he's biting his lip in an attempt to contain himself and be good :)...I just love it.

BUT, I LOOOOVE the last one you posted E (I like cards with small or transparent graphics so the focus is the pics) and might play with that one too. I have a graphic designer who does my cards so maybe I'll ask her which one she likes better.

    Thanks again ladies!
