DS is almost always happy with some new Imaginext doodad, which my mom is getting him. He's getting Hexbugs, a really cool 'what's inside the T Rex' book, some Color Wonder book, the How to Train Your Dragon DVDs. That kind of thing.
DD is princess and Pillow Pet obsessed. I can't find anything biggish for her. So far she's got a bunch of little Princess crap from the dollar store, some princess Squinkies, a princess color wonder book, some socks and undies and that's pretty much it so far.
She already owns SEVEN Pillow Pets. We're drowning in art supplies, we have a fully stocked play kitchen, she doesn't really play with the dolls and doll house that she has. She's not into musical instruments. She won't sit still for a movie. We could dress up the full cast of a Broadway show with all of the dress up items in our inventory. You can only own so many puzzles.
It's made even worse by the fact that her birthday is 12/5 and Christmas is less than 3 weeks later.
Re: Good gifts for 3 year old girls?
Does she have any hand puppets?
Nat just got these for her birthday - and they were a total hit with all 4 kids: https://www.amazon.com/Velour-Animal-Puppets-Preschool-Kindergarten/dp/B002AK5EUY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322783465&sr=8-1
I know I've suggested these on here before....but they are fun, and easier than dressing actual dolls: (and only $12 at TRU and Meijer) https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_7?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=snap+n+style&x=0&y=0&sprefix=snap+n+
And there is a similar Minnie Mouse version: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_7?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=snap+n+style&x=0&y=0&sprefix=snap+n+#/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_10?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=minnie+bowtique&sprefix=minnie+bow&rh=n%3A165793011%2Ck%3Aminnie+bowtique
Does she have a throw blanket? I know Target has lots of character fleece throws - my kids love those for lazy mornings/movie nights/campouts in the LR.
DD is totally obsessed with Princess things too, so far the only thing she asked for was the Disney princess collection from Target, some books, a pink leapster explorer, a mini tea set from PBK and a tea party doll.
For Bday in January
She's getting the PBK madeline vanity along with the stool/cushion.
I was able to get the PBK items at 40% off so I jumped all over that.
A friend is buying her a 6 pack of dress up princess shoes. My mom is getting her the GoGo kitty.
I don't know if she'd go for those SnapNStyle things. She's got PopOn Pals that never get played with. She's also got some Littlest Pet Shop stuff that languishes unused.
This is making me want to pound my head against the wall.

What about a doll castle? My DD couldn't care less about her doll house but her M&D doll castle has been played with daily since she got it (last year) and with the little disney princess dolls.
What about some camping gear?
DD & DS love to "camp out" together in their rooms, the living room, etc. We make tents and they bring in all their gear for a camp out.
Maybe a sleeping bag (Princess of course!) and a Kid Tough Lantern?

Also, what about one of those Kid Tough Cameras or Video Cameras so she can take pics of herself as a princess or her brother can. DS got one for Christmas last year and they seriously love it. They run around and take pictures of each other doing silly things and dressing up.
Have a scooter, have an easel, have tons of throws and blankets.
This second kid thing sucks, because there is SO much that we already have.
