What to take to hospital?

The baby should be released today (still waiting for the call) and I have no idea what to take to the hospital with me!  The hospital SW said that I need two forms of ID to take the baby but what else should I take?

The hospital is about 20 minutes from our house and it's a very windy day (trees fell over last night in the wind).  Do I take the carseat into the hospital or do I leave it in the car?

 Help!

Re: What to take to hospital?

  • I would take in the car seat, clothes, and blankets. A toy or stuffed animal if she is an older baby.

Oh no!  I guess I haven't shared on here yet...  She is 1 month old.

  • Just the ID, carseat, and a going home outfit.  If its chilly a blanket would be good too.
  • Yeah, um, pack a going home outfit.  Learn from us :)

Bring the carseat in--they'll help you put her in it, and get situated.

I brought a whole diaper bag full of stuff, didn't need any of it, except of course the going home outfit that I didn't have.

I was so thankful so pick up Pumpkin from the hospital--the nurses told us lots of good info and helped us feel secure going home.  One nurse walked us all the way to the car--and made sure his car seat was "clicked" into the base. I think they need to make sure they are in a carseat for liability.  It's just like wheeling the post-partum mom out to the car.... except you can walk ;)

A baby hat is nice if it's chilly. But, the hospital probably has one.

Our hospital gave us tons of formula and dipes--but I didn't know that and brought some with.

    Yay!
