Okay, I am thinking about not even posting but my daughter has not slept well at all these first 3 months but almost everytime I put her on her tummy to do tummy times she curls up with her thumb and falls asleep instead. Do you think it's ever okay to lay them down to sleep on their tummies? I have never done it because of fear of SIDs...
Re: Tummy Sleeping...
So, she is 3 months old now?
Does she flip over on to her tummy by herself yet? Supposedly once they can flip back & forth on their own, it is safe to tummy sleep.
Personally, I would still lay her on her back for now and if you do have her tummy sleep, do it for naps where you can be right there with her to keep an eye on things.

She rolls from her back to her stomach if motivated but doesn't roll from her belly to her back... she doesn't even seem to try. She's cholicy and I don't know if it just feels better to be on her tummy or what. I let her nap on her tummy and check on her frequently but when I lay her on her back she sleeps for maybe an hour at a time. Maybe more tummy time and hope she soon rolls over?
There's not a chance that I'd risk it, especially at that age and since she's not rolling herself into that position on her own or can roll herself back. https://blogs2.startribune.com/blogs/cribsheet/2008/02/26/please-dont-take-my-sunshine-away/

Thanks ladies!
I just re-read some info on SIDS and it says that the majority of cases occur between 2-4 months. I can make it though a couple more months of sleepless nights! Just needed some reinforcement from some other moms I think : )
