Light gray dress pants ok to wear in December?

I am fashion challenged.  We have a casual wedding to go to this weekend (at a Park lodge).  Are light gray dress pants too light for this time of year?   I was thinking the gray pants with a dressy cardigan.  Or I could get a nice top to wear with black pants.

I think it would work if you pair it with a dark colored cardigan, like a deep red or purple. Blue or black would look too business-y.

How light are they?  I would say yes (if not summer light) if it is a daytiome wedding. If it were a night wedding I would go with Black

  It is a middle of the day wedding.  As far as how dark they are the are about half way between white and charcoal gray.
