I am almost 36 weeks.  I walked down the steps to go to the bathroom and felt a shooting pain in my vagina.  The pain made me stop and catch my breath.  I went to the bathroom and my underwear had a good amount of mucus in it.  Not sure what just happened.

Is it painful to lose the mucus plug?  I don't know, I'm just asking.  This definitely hurt.

Sounds like the double-whammy of "lightning crotch" and losing your mucus plug.  It sounds like some time in the next 4 weeks, you're going to deliver a baby.

In my experience, both are common 3rd tri symptoms.  And neither means impending labor, unless a month or more away is "impending"

That's what I was thinking.  Lightning crotch is the WORST!!!
