Hello ladies! I'm new to the bump. I've been lurking for awhile but this is my first post. We found out 2 weeks ago at a 10 week dating ultrasound that we are having twins. Completely unexpected, no twins anywhere! We are so excited!
I have been having a really rough time lately, all day nausea, exhaustion, crying episodes and now new this week headaches. I just don't know how I'm going to make it through the next few weeks until this lightens up. Please just tell me I'm not the only one who feels/felt this way.
Lots to learn. Looking forward to being a part of the multiples club!
Re: TWINS!
Congratulations to you! I got some wicked headaches when I was a little farther along than you, and I seemed to be able to pin it on overdoing it/not eating enough. It may have been a vitamin deficiency of some sort, but just eating a lot of calories really seemed to help. I'm sure my body was gearing up for this whole pregnancy--I'm not nearly as hungry all the time now (maybe because of my smooshed stomach!).
There will likely be lots of other crazy issues/ailments that accompany the pregnancy, so just laugh at the whole experience whenever you can
Good luck!
congrats!
it will get better, hang in there! my exhaustion has finally gotten better over the last week or so.
plus the bonus is you get two babies at the end!

congratulations on your twins! I found out about the same time and was blown away. that seems like forever ago in retrospect, but tough at the time. take it day by day and try to enjoy the journey.
Congratulations and welcome!!!! We are in the same boat, twins was a total shock to us too, hahaha!
I went through the all day nausea with both pregnancies, it does get better in a few weeks! For now, just try to eat something small every couple of hours, so your stomach doesn't get completely empty. It's when you have an empty stomach and all that acid is churning around in there that you get sick the most.
I have no solution for the exhaustion except to rest whenever you can!
Are they tension headaches or sinus headaches? Mine are sinus, my dr. recommends sinus rinses, nasal sprays for moisture, and claritin or benadryl are approved as safe (haven't tried those yet though)
As for the crying episodes, I have no advice there either. A damn hallmark commercial will set me off these days. Just hang in there and know that these hormonal changes are perfectly normal!!!!
Congrats! I have a very similar story--no twins anywhere, never expected them--went in for the 9 week u/s and saw two babies!
The early part of pregnancy is SO hard but just know that it will get better! With my DS, I didn't stop throwing up every day til 20 weeks and there's no end in sight with this pregnancy either. Right around 12 weeks was when I started getting monster headaches with DS. My dr. prescribed Fioricet and even though I really try not to take meds while pregnant, it was a total godsend!!
You are not the only one who feels this way--it can be totally debilitating but you WILL start feeling better and they will be totally worth it.
Congrats! This board has been great - I have learned so much already.
We found out at 11 weeks - no reason to expect twins for us, either. It was and is still a shock!

Welcome. I am at 15 wks with similarly totally unexpected twins. I started my nausea at 7 weeks and at 12 I finally got meds becuase I was losing weight. I can't say that it is over yet, but I seem to have gotten a handle on it with the help of Zofran. I am hoping it will dissipate soon, but so far, it's still going strong.
I have had headaches and pretty much just toughed them out, but they aren't fun. As for the crying, well, that seems to be par for the course too. You are definitely not the only one.
GL and Congratulations!
First, congratulations! When there are no twins in your family, it certainly is a shock, isn't it? It takes awhile to sink in, doesn't it?
And second, nope, you are definitely not the only one! I was fatigued beyond belief, had terrible moodiness, lots and lots of food aversions, and the worst constipation. I had everyone telling me that I'd feel better in the second trimester, and finally this week (14w), I do! While I still have the fatigue, my digestive issues have gotten way better. Still a little moody, but I think that's also fatigue-related.
Anyway, I hope that the next few weeks fly by for you. While you may not feel like Superwoman in the second trimester, you will probably feel somewhat better.
