so, every year i put up stockings and when i fill DH's and Oreo's they get so heavy they fall down
i have pretty heavy stocking holders but they still fall down. i don't remember where i got the holders. i've tried putting less in the stocking for buying lighter things but they still get too heavy at some point
any suggestions for better holders or ways to keep them from falling down?
thanks

Re: if you put up a stocking please come in
I tie ours to our stair railing so they stay pretty well.
So my suggestions would be rope or duct tape!

I had to ix-nay the cute holders that stand up and go with standard mantle hooks. These seem to work better. Plus, just buy less ***

I ended up doing this last year too. I was constantly having the same problem with the stockings falling. And the kitty was trying to get into her's when it fell
Growing up we sat in the same spots every year to open present. Actually we stood do! My mom would put our stockings on our seat.
Dh and I do this too. We fill on christmas eve right before bed and put out. The puppies we put on the kitchen table so there isn't a treat binge over night

DH & I hang them from a shelf, and stocking holders kept falling, so we just used a paperclip and wrapped it around the spindle on the shelf, and that sucker held awesome!! LOL

This is what we got. It fits tightly to the mantel and kept our stockings up really great. Ours are heavy too. They aren't cute or anything, but they work and I don't think they look that bad. I think we got them at Target.

I don't remember what my parents did, but ours were always pretty heavy, but they didn't get filled till the night before. I know they never fell.
DH and I don't do stockings. We don't even have a fireplace, so not sure where I would even put them.
My DH did use the command strips for his curatins and they worked for years. They have been coming off this last year slowly, but I think they were up for 8 plus years since I didn't put them up.

Not sure what to do now. Sad and lost.
We hang ours up until Christmas Eve and then on Christmas Morning they are all laying out next to each other up against the chest of drawers we have in the Living Room. My mom used to do this so I've continued. Lola's we keep on top of the drawers.
We dont hang them on the mantel because the fire place is in a different room .
So I dont have a suggestion...just a thought on what we do!
