Spotting after GBS swab and internal?

I had my first internal on Monday afternoon and the dr. did the GBS swab as well. I had some heavy spotting that evening and light spotting since yesterday morning. I know this is normal and it is just brown spotting, so old blood, but how long will this usually last for?

She said that Baby was "really low" and that I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, so things are heading in the right direction

I had the same thing (GBS and first internal Monday early afternoon) and my spotting has stopped as of late last night.  Depending on how sensitive your cervix is, it could take a little longer...

I also had my GBS this morning.. He said I would be bleeding & not to call him about it (lol--he was kidding!!) I think if I am still bleeding after Friday, I'll call just to double check to make sure it's okay--only bc he never said how long I'd be bleeding......

Same here. She said that slight bleeding and then spotting is normal, but not for how long. It's not a whole lot, so I am not too worried about it, but it is quite annoying!

I.had quite a bit of bleeding after my internals this week and last. More than spotting but it tapered off within a day or so

My doctor said as long as it wasn't a "period like amount" that any bleeding was normal after the internal. He didn't say how long though. But I think it just depends on the person. But if it makes you extremely stressed then I would call just for the piece of mind. Feeling a little silly after a phone call is better for babe then you being stressed. hth!

My first internal I had nothing, the second one last week I had some brown spotting for about a day and then lost my mucus plug over the next two days. Today I had my third internal and have had some brown spotting not as much as last week though, but have been having some cramping since then. The spotting is normal as long as it isn't like a period type bleeding and I think it could last a day or two. Hope this helps

Happily Overwhelmed

I went Monday for this. The doctor warned me of spotting. I didn't bleed at all Monday but cramped and bled Tuesday. Now Wednesday night there's still traces of it. I'm still cramping horribly...but the bleeding has slowed to almost stopped.
