NBR: Architectural Alphabet Art

I can't remember, but wasn't there a Nestie that made these? Here's an example:

A&Jmom - I think you had mentioned once that you had letter templates you used? Where did you find them? I'd like to do one of these as a gift for my dad and step-mom this year.

Re: NBR: Architectural Alphabet Art

  • I made one myself when my grandparents sold their home they'd lived in for 40+ years.  I went around their house and took pictures of things that would work for the letters I needed.  I highly recommend doing *that* because it becomes something more special.  Yeah, you could get a clip art of a "P" online, but it's so much neater when you can find that "P" from something they'd recognize, KWIM?

  • Abbysmom was doing them a couple of years ago, but not sure if she still is.  I agree with Joyce- taking your own b&w photos makes it personal.  I did the same thing. Took pictures of things around the house and it worked out perfectly. I bought the frame at HL and got the photos printed at CVS.
  • Yep, I made them and took all the pics myself.  I have the letter somewhere if you are interested in trying to make it yourself.  I agree it is awesome to use your own photography rather than finding some online (I love looking at the ones I did) but it is also VERY time consuming. Let me know if you are interested in the letters- I can try to dig them up- I know they are on the server somewhere.
