High-Risk Pregnancy

pre-e/bed rest intro @ 24 weeks

Hi everyone!  I've been lurking here for a bit while things were still borderline, but my doctor has gone ahead and put me on bed rest as of last night while we wait to see what happens with pre-e.  My bp has never been super impressive this pregnancy (thank you, ptsd from two previous losses), but starting at 20 weeks it's been creeping up and as of 23 weeks I had 284 mg of protein in my 24 hr urine collection.  I feel well physically still so here's hoping bed rest helps and I get to stay here for a long time! :-)

Re: pre-e/bed rest intro @ 24 weeks

  • HI - Sorry you're here but as you know, it's absolutely the best thing for your LO.  I went on bed rest at 24w4d...almost 10 weeks ago.  It won't always be easy but you'll find lots of support here!  I hope your stay is uneventful!

    Good Luck!

  • Hi!

I'm technically a PAL'er, but I've had experience with Pre-E so I figured I'd chime in.  Hopefully the BR helps you out and your LO gets to cook for a long time.

  • Sorry about the bedrest. Been there and done that. I'm almost 20 weeks now and waiting for the hammer to drop so to speak this pregnancy. Although bed rest can be challenging you know its for the best and will ultimately have the best kind of prize! Hope it goes well for you!
