S/o reading, how are you doing?

I had to revise my count. I am book 65 now. I didn't realize my kindle was counting the user guides and dictionaries as items so I had to uncount them.

I hate the book I am reading now. It's so long and mostly boring. I've been working on it for 2 weeks and I am still not done. With it and a couple other books that bogged me down I don't think I'll even make 75, let alone 100 this year. Guess I'll start again on Jan 1! I'm determined to make 100 next year!

Oh bust on the kindle!  I just looked and am at 69, so assuming I can ever finish Condi I think I can make 75 books. I'm not even halfway though, and I'm 9 el rides or so in-that's a lot for me. I guess it doesn't help that I fell asleep going home last night.

What are you reading that you hate? Is it still that WWII bio?

I think I'm going to try for 100 next year too!

No, I finally finished that one, but it bogged me down for weeks too. This is a fictional book about magicians in England in the 1800s.

It's got to be 1500 pages as the % only changes on the Kindle after I've read 15 pages.

SO LONG. And pointless. It's going nowhere and so convoluted.

Jonathon Strange? That's my guess-and if so-yeah, that book aged me.

That's the one! Lol. Terrible. The reviews were good too.

I didn't fully hate it in the end FWIW. But oh my goodness, it was 1000 pgs too long.

Well, that's good to know. The way the author carries on with describing every single scene in minute detail adds 5 pages each time there ought to be a half page, maybe a page at most.

I really need to look at page counts before deciding on a book...for me to want to read a 1500 page book, it better be awesome. Like Game of Thrones. I power through those even though they are extremely long!

That's good to  know! I need to finish Condi so I can start that! Thank goodness my library copy is a paperback!
