Question of the week:
Knowing what you know now, what would you NOT register for (eg-blankets/pacifiers/clothes) since you end up getting so much at your shower?

Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~
Updates: Just chugging along! Still feeling really good, even thought the lightening crotch has picked up in frequency and strength.
QOTW: Nothing really. All of the stuff I got off my registry last time was awesome and necessary. I didn't register for any clothes, which was good.
Updates: I had an u/s on Monday to check on the baby's heart and I was so relieved to hear that her heart is perfect! I couldn't have heard better news! It was fun to see the baby on the u/s again and to see how much she has changed and grown since the last u/s. And it was fun to see the position she was lying and why my ribs have been hurting so much!! Other than that, I'm still doing well.
I'm still waiting on word from my GD test... crossing my fingers and toes that I passed. It was not fun having to take that the Monday after Thanksgiving. I definitely ate more than my share of sweets over the weekend.
QOTW: Swaddling blankets, any type of clothing and bibs. I got a ton of those items at my shower and none of them were practical.
Update: Feeling really good and starting to really show now. Things are great so far and we get to see her again on the 15th.
QOTW: Pacifiers (DD hated them) and onesies. I got so many onesies that DD would have had to wear two different onesies a day for the first three months of her life in order to get them all in!
Update: I took Unisom last night and I did not wake up feeling sick once! Hooray! I am still tired and just started feeling nauseous again. I may go eat a snack and see if that helps. Other than that, not much going on. I meet with the NP next week for my next appointment.
My hips would get really sore last pregnancy. My OB said it was them getting ready for baby. I used a body pillow and ended up taking tylenol before bed to help with the discomfort a little. Nothing I did made the soreness go completely away, though.
QOTW: I read a couple of these survey type questions before so I didn't register for clothes for the reason that we would get a lot at showers. I also wouldn't have registered for receiving blankets if i would have known my cousin was going to give me 20.
Update: I'm almost there. I am soo ready to be finished with work and have decided to leave 5 days earlier than planned. I saw my dr on Monday and I'm 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I know it doesn't mean any certain thing but its good from not having any sort of progress on the Wednesday before. I see her again on Monday and I see my GD dr on Tuesday. I've been controlling my GD with diet so I'm not sure if they still plan on inducing at 39 weeks or not. It depends on the size of the baby when they do the ultrasound.
QOTW: So far, I don't think I'd really change anything but that could surely change when the baby gets here.
Update: I passed my GD test so that's nice. I was pretty worried about it. My next appt. is in a week then I start with my bi-weekly appts. I don't have much to update except I'm having more back pain and rib pain during the day. It's strange because it doesn't feel like she's kicking, they just hurt. I assume they're just moving around but who knows. I've had a couple of nights where I woke up multiple times with painful BH so I'm really trying to keep my water intake up. I guess that's about it.
Congrats MrsLaquinta! Hope your girls are feeling better!
I guess clothes, even though I didn't register for many anyway. We got TONS of clothes. Oh and blankets---I had no idea how much people loved to buy blankets. We also got three piggy banks, which was random
Update: Still feeling miserable, throwing up every day. I took the advice to heart and switched OBs to Dr. Campaigne at Nurture. LOVE her. So glad I did this as I feel a big weight has been lifted. I'm going to the peri tomorrow and I'll get to see the babies. At my OB appt yesterday she was able to find both heartbeats going strong in the 150s so that was exciting/relieving.
ETA: I'm having a REALLY hard time with the emotional aspect of weaning DS. It's been over a week since he nursed and even though every pregnant nursing session was absolute misery for me and I wanted to be done and forced him to be done, I feel sad, guilty, etc etc etc
QOTW: swaddlers, DS hated them and we got too many anyways. Hopefully this one likes them!
Update: Had A/S and she is still a girl. Everything looks great. I've been nasty sick with a cold for a week though. Ready for this to be over since I can't work at all while coughing (I'm a massage therapist), so this is costing me a lot of money.
QOTW: We have barely started our registry (only have about 5 things on it), mainly b/c I want to wait until all of the 2012 changeover stuff is done. I'm usually such a planner, but for some reason the baby registry thing is so overwhelming to me. I also don't really want a bunch of my family buying me all baby stuff for Christmas to be honest, so I figured no registry=no baby stuff . . . hopefully that assumption holds.
Update: I have my a/s this week - can't wait to find out if we having a boy or girl! In other news, I'm dying from a cold over here. Everytime I hang out with friends with babies/toddlers, I bring home some nasty bug.
QOTW: I didn't really have a shower, so I only registered in order to get the 10% completion coupons. I put everything on it that we'll need to save some money. My co-workers threw me a small surprise shower and we received gift cards to Walmart and BRU and my in-laws threw us a google+ shower and we received the Ergo Sport that we wanted as well as some Burt's Bees stuff. Those were both on our amazon registry and wanted.
Update: I had my first internal on Monday and also the GBS swab. Dr. said that Baby is "really low" and that I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Still spotting from that today, which I do not like. And I am pretty crampy all day, but I think that just might be my uterus stretching? Sleeping is quite a challenge these days and my back hurts often, but other than that I can't complain!
QOTW: Well, I haven't registered yet, nor have I had a shower. So no input, but I will be taking notes from everyone else.
Update: We had our anatomy scan on Monday. Everything looked fine, but I was hoping for some more reassuring information (my sequential screen odds for Down's were *very* close to being negative, and I was hoping for something like "No soft markers present" where all we got was "nothing to indicate a greater risk".). Oh, and my baby will be huge most likely, which is no surprise. I'm measuring in the 86th percentile and since I was nearly 10 pounds at birth, doc will continue to monitor the growth. I'm measuring 3 days ahead of me EDD and that date is 4 days ahead of conception date, so I'm a week ahead.
We had the technician write down the baby's gender in a Christmas card and we'll open it up on Christmas day and find out what we're having!

QOTW: I really didn't get much that was on my registry, so I can't say there isn't something I wouldn't register for this time. And, seeing how I am not registering for anything this time, it's a mute point.
UPDATE: I'm getting bigger everyday. I'm starting to slow down. I am so much bigger this time than I was last time. Mot much else to report.
