Today was a big parenting fail

I knew I was pushing it, I had big plans for today, started with postnatal yoga (you can bring baby) and had to stop halfway through to nurse, then the teacher had to hold her for the rest of the class. After that things were okay, went to lunch with my mom, then had my 6 month PP visit, all of which she slept through. My OB took the colic concept very seriously and talked to me in depth about food allergies and my diet. So the plan was then head to the mall to finish up my Christmas shopping then go to a meeting for my women's club. Instead Winter had a screaming hysterical meltdown that even the car ride didn't cure so I had to come home. When I got her out of the car she was drenched in sweat and tears from crying so hard :(

    Oh and did I mention how I drove for several minutes in the parking lot of the mall before realizing I had just put DD in her carseat but not buckled her in? Bad mommy!! Thank god I saw it before we drove too far but still, i'm horrified at myself.

    Oh no, big ((hugs)) that is not a parenting fail.  LO's are unpredictable I know how guilty it can feel but hang in there she will be ok.

    LOs can be so unpredictable & can go from zero to meltdown in no time flat for no apparent reason.  It's unnerving.  

    I'm sorry you had such a rough day.  Sad  Hopefully your OB's advice will help make life a little easier for you soon.

    I'm sorry hon, you are doing fine, I promise you! One time on ome of out 1st trips out w/C I did the same, forgot to buckle him in & DH closed the rear door but didnt totally close it (like it needed a nudge to fully latch closed) well we drove home & didnt realize until we parked. We failed massively that day!!

    That is by no means a fail, Ginger! You did practically everything you set out to do today! That is fantastic (trust me, as I don't have the ladyballs to have even tried all that!)! And as for the buckling in - also not a fail as you diligently checked and fixed it. Thumbs up all the way around!

    Youre my new out of the house hero! :)

    Twice this week Quinn has been drenched in sweat from screaming in the car. You aren't alone.
    After two losses, a rainbow arrived! DD born 11.5.11
    Dx with severe Asherman's syndrome after a botched PP D&C (pursuing med mal)
    Hysteroscopy Oct '13, not enough progress 
    Hysteroscopy Jan '14, given an end-of-the-road diagnosis
    Joined International Asherman's Association April '14 
    Not ready to give up yet.
    Hysteroscopy with Dr. Isaacson (an expert in the USA) 6.2.14: Good prognosis, at least 50% of cavity open.
    Repeat hysteroscopy scheduled with Dr. I on 6.16.14. Great progress. Unbenched!!!!
    Discussing actively TTC with DH after the heartache of the last year. We're both reeling.

    Awww, sounds like maybe she was a little overwhelmed/overstimulated...either that or a 6 week old, lol.

    We all have those moments, both the sceaming baby type and the 'didn't get the kid in the carseat right' type.

    I locked Lucas into his car seat and didn't realize for about 10 miles that I never tightened the straps. I felt so awful

    Hugs. I had one of the buckle moments went Ollie but the mall valet caught it talk about feeling crappy. Luckily we hadn't driven anywhere.
