I went to my class today at the Y and ran into a mom I used to see all the time at the library (we both took our kids to the same classes).  Anyways, I haven't seen her since right before Annabelle was diagnosed at 20 weeks and she asked me the inevitable...  When did you have your baby?  I told her briefly (because she had her 3 kids with her) that Annabelle passed away shortly after birth and she responded- "I'm sorry, I guess it happens."  Now she is a sweet person, and I can only assume she didn't mean to say it like that, but ouch.  That hit me like a ton of bricks.  IT HAPPENS.  Yeah, I guess it does, but that is not what I want to hear.

    TTC since November 2009. DH diagnosed with sperm antibodies. IUI #1 = BFN IUI #2 = BFN On the road to IVF....     Mom to Eliott Alexander, born sleeping at 37 weeks on 8/13/10. Most of us only dream of angels - I held one in my arms.

    Even if she didn't mean it like it sounds, it certainly wasn't a nice thing to say.  People can be so insensitive.

    I will never understand why people say the most bizarre things about a loss.  I almost wanna believe it's cuz they feel uncomfortable, so they say anything to end the conversation.  It's really gross.  Sorry you had to hear that.  (((hugs)))

    You know, even before my loss, that would not have been something I would have said. While yes it happens,obviously, that's not something that should ever be said.
