Can I ask a question: Provera and Chrons

Hi,

I am not sure where to post this, but I haven't had a period since August, so my OBGYN put me on 7 days of Provera, to see if I would get my period, that was 3 weeks ago.  I never started my period, so he told me to call him if that happened, so he decided to prescribe another round but this time 10 days,  I am on day 7 of 10 on this round.

I have chrons, and I was wondering if anyone has had a flare up when on Provera?  The first round I seemed fine, but then this second round has had my insides torn up.  I am almost done so I am hoping the flare up will go away.

I am also stressed about this whole thing so that doesn't help my Chrons.  My OBGYN said if this round didn't work he would test my estrogen levels next to see if my ovaries stopped working for either a short time or forever.  Nothing like putting your mind at ease.....

  • I think it is spelled "Crohn's" :)

I don 't have any experience with Crohn's and fertility as my good friend that has Crohn's (and taught me all I know about it) is a guy. I can however tell you I had a round of provera not work and we decided to go ahead with meds anyway. It was a horrible cycle and I bled in the middle of it. I hope this does not happen to you!

Good luck and keep us updated!
