vent/whine: being sick

I have been on the verge of getting sick for about the past 3 weeks...with dry, hacking cough and slightly runny nose. and now, after having spent exactly one night at my IL's house over the weekend, where they have a cat (I'm allergic), I am full-on sick.

today it feels like the sinus under my right eye is about to explode and also like someone is sticking feathers up my nose making me feel like I'm constantly about to sneeze.

and tonight is the night that DH teaches so he won't be home until after 10pm. and Warner is deciding not to nap (he's currently sitting in his bed loudly reciting an episode of Dora because he's weird like that). waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

  • Ugh, so sorry! Being sick is never any fun, being sick while pregnant with an active toddler is awful. Feel better soon!

  • I'm so sorry. I wish Warner would nap. That would at least give you a little break.

  • Aw, that stinks.  I hope your day picked up and Warner napped for you.

It's funny that you posted this because I was just thinking about you and your sinuses.  No, I'm not a crazy stalker, I just remember several posts where you complained about sinus issues.  Tomorrow I'm going to have sinus surgery (had a septoplasty two years ago, but all it did was allow my nose to drain.  It didn't stop the recurrent infections).  I'm torn between being petrified of the surgery, scared it won't work and sooo hopeful it will work and I can kick the majority of my sinus infections to the curb.

Interestingly enough, being pregnant with both my DDs was the only time when I wouldn't get sinus infections (maybe 1 or 2 per pregnancy). Afrin, my NeilMed and apple cider vinegar (mix with water and honey and drink it down) helped me when I was pg and couldn't take drugs.

    Feel better!

  • thanks, everyone! still feeling like crap today, but trying to work through it ;-)

2vthokies--good luck with your surgery! let me know how it goes, it's definitely something I might want to look into one day.
