Question for moms of more than 1 and sorta intro

Hi everyone.  I normally don't post too much on this board, but lurk from time to time as I had a c-section with DS in May 2010.

Anyways, I had my first appointment yesterday for my 2nd pregnancy and everything looked good, but the doctor said that my uterus shouldn't be above my pubic bone at this point and that I am measuring around 12-14 weeks, not 8. 

I know that my dates aren't that off.  My LMP was around 9/29 and I got a BFN at 9 DPO and a BFP at 11 DPO, so I am pretty sure that my due date is close.

The doctor has ordered an ultrasound to rule out :::gulp::: multiples.

I was wondering if it could it just be because this is the 2nd time around?  I knew that I would probably measure a little ahead due to this being my 2nd pregnancy, but 4-6 weeks??  I have also heard that 2nd timers that have had previous c-sections tend to measure larger, but couldn't find any resources on to verify that.  Any input would be much appreciated...

I had my first c-section in May of 2010 also and I just had another c-section this past August. My baby girl was born 6lbs and 13oz and my oldest was 6lbs and 12oz. There was really not a difference with the growth or anything. They actually told me that girls normally are bigger so they never said the extra weight for me and the baby was generally because she was a girl. Hope this helps.

I measured right on track with my first, and measured 1 week ahead until 20 weeks with my second (after having a c-section). For me it was just 1 week, and eventually evened out. I wouldn't be too concerned just yet though, plenty of people measure ahead, and likely baby will even out eventually. 

Good luck with the ultrasound, LOL, I hope it turns out the way you want (whether that's one baby or more). I wouldn't worry about it though!

This is my third pregnancy, and I am measuring 4-6 weeks ahead.  I've never heard that it could be due to my c-sections...my doctor didn't mention that reason either.  We just joked that the baby had a mansion uterus.
