Amazon's pricing is insane

I made a wish list of stuff to get DS since I'm not starting my shopping for a few more days, and I've been checking it to see the pricing. Some of the things (like Hot Wheels tracks) have jumped $20 to $30 just during one day. An EZ Bake oven is now $68. WTF?

Re: Amazon's pricing is insane

  • In case you are not aware, many sellers are represented on Amazon.  Amazon itself sells items but if they run out or demand is high 3rd party sellers mark up their items and can sell them for whatever they want.  I am lookng for the Hot Wheels Wall Tracks and can't find it anywhere so it is marked up hugely by 3rdparty sellers.  The Easy Bake Oven is tough to find right now too!

  • I ordered the wall tracks a few weeks ago and paid $30. I went yesterday to get a second set for my nephew and they've doubled in price. Insane!

I ordered something this morning for $65 and it said "1 left in stock". As soon as I ordered it I went back to the item and it was listed for $95 and no longer said "1 left in stock" Its crazy!

I'm glad I jumped on that yesterday. I decided to go ahead and order the EB Oven, and paid $34 for the "ultimate" version.

  • I have learned my lesson of buying toys early on Amazon a couple years ago. It seems like after T-giving, prices sky rocket since things are in such demand.

  • Yeah, it is not just the 3rd party vendors, sometimes Amazon can be insane with their own pricing and it can change very regularly.  But they often have better pricing too so you just have to research.

I am happy that I got DS the old version of the EBO when they were getting rid of them at Walmart during the summer, it was only $9 and I bought up all the food that they had so we should get some time out of it, I also bought extra light bulbs for when they go...now I have to find those light bulbs.
