I'm just wondering what the typical waiting time is. I got mine done around 5PM today at an off site lab (Quest) and I asked the woman who took my blood how long it would take for the reults to come in and she said like 3 business day!? I find that hard to believe. That seems like forever to me. Can't I get them earlier somehow?

I was seeing my RE when I was getting my b/w done. If I was there by 9 am to get my blood drawn, I would get my results back that afternoon. They run betas at their office though, so I think that is why the results come back so quickly. In one of my previous pregnancies, I got b/w done at the OB and it took at least a day or so before I got my b/w results back.

The last two times I asked my doctor to release the results to me and I was able to get them within 90 minutes. If they aren't released to me I can either get them from my doctor the next day.
In my experience, the private labs take longer than the lab at my family doctor's office or the lab I go to for my OB, which is actually at our local hospital. Is it an option for you to have your bw done at a hospital lab by any chance? I really like doing mine there because they have really good hours but also because I know my results will be processed quickly because the hospital lab is staffed 24/7 to handle patients' bloodwork so even if I go in at 7 p.m. right before they close, the results are faxed to my doctor that night.

I'm an RN at a fairly large hospital, and it generally only takes about an hour to process the lab results and you should have them that same day. I think I'd give 2-3 hours and then call.
