I'm waiting until close to 10 months for raw dairy, but I have extremely high rates of food allergies in my family. I'm being over cautious on introducing anything high-allergen.
To begin, I plan on giving him shredded cheese (mild cheddar probably) as finger food.

I gave it to her as one of her first foods. For a couple months goat cheese was her favorite thing. Now she's more partial to string cheese. Sigh.
We did BLW so we just fed her whatever we had in the house from day one of solids.
This. Doc told me to go for it. And by "it" I mean everything including eggs and peanut butter. DD has had cheese in a tofu scramble and lots of yogurt.
