Birth Certificate ?

Hi,  I don't post on this board too often but maybe someone can answer my question.  DS is 8 weeks and we still haven't got his birth certificate.  We filled out the paperwork in the hospital and I was under the assumption it would be mailed to us or do I have to request a copy?  TIA.

    it totally depends on the city he was born in.. it all goes through the city offices.. so it varies from town to town.. but I don't think 8 weeks is that far out of the ordinary.

    Totally depends on the city. For my 1st son he was born in Buffalo (so a lot of births there) and I know it took awhile. For my 2nd, he was only the 2nd one born that year in our town (in May) so we had his within a week!

    It wouldn't hurt to call the city/town hall records department & ask though
