Just wanted to share in case anyone was on the fence about buying one
We gave it to her for a cross-country flight (me alone w/ the 2 girls) and DD spent most of the flight playing on it. She absolutely loves it! She really enjoys the games and was having a blast taking pictures and movies, and then drawing on the pictures. I had also uploaded a couple movies, but she was too busy playing to watch them. Very happy with it and the deal we got ($64 total).

Re: DD LOVES her LeapPad
Glad she liked it!
I can't wait to give DD's hers. That was an AWESOME B&N deal.
Thank you for the review! Were you able to take advantage of the Barnes & Noble 40% discount? I just missed that by a couple days! I'm hoping that they offer another deal in the next month or two, even after Christmas.
I'm still learning about the LeapPad and Innotab, but I had thought I read that only the Innotab allows you to upload movies? From what you said, the LeapPad does as well? And out of curiosity, what made you pick the LeapPad over the Innotab?
Thanks!
Yep, the 40% B&N coupon! So glad I happened to log onto here that day and catch the deal!!
I could be wrong, but I think the Innotab only allows "movies" that you take yourself, either on the Innotab or on the Vtech camera. I'm not positive on that though. With the LeapPad, they have a large (100ish) selection of games and movies that you can put on there. So you can't just pick any DVD and upload it, but there are a good amount in their collection. My girls love LeapFrog movies, so that, along with the great B&N price is really what sold me on it!

Thanks for chiming in. I read the same thing about the Innotab, which was why I was leaning towards that over the Leappad if we went the route of a kid's "tablet." But I also read reviews from parents that are having difficulties converting the movies to the appropriate file type to play on the Innotab without having to purchase separate software to do so. Sometimes I wonder if Vtech didn't rush out this product just to compete with Leapfrog
