Anyone avoid stretch marks with #1 but get them with #2???

I am irrationally ticked about this. My mom doesn't have any stretch marks. I didn't get a single one with DS1, but now....it looks like I may be getting some right in/a little out from my belly button. WTF?????????  I am only 22 weeks and haven't grown that much - this is crazy. If I am starting to get some NOW what on earth will I look like at the end??  Is it possible to get them with subsequent kids if you didn't get any with your first??

  • This post is n/a for me, but I wanted to ask if you are finding out the baby's sex?!
  • I didn't get any with #1 but did get some with #2.  I had #1 at 36 weeks, and #2 and 38.5 weeks, and the stretch marks appeared only a week or so before #2 was born, so I attributed it to that.  Who knows, though!
  • I did - It's another boy :) Only problem is that he may never have a name. We used our only agreed upon name with DS1....

  • I got one single one by my belly button with DD. I rubbed coco butter all over my belly with her.

With DS, I got quite a few more, but I also gained a ton of weight and didn't put a thing on my belly.

Congrats!!  We are lucky we were done after DS was born because he took our only boy name too!

  • I was paranoid about stetch marks with both pregnancies. I escaped with no noticable marks. I have one on the underside of my breast but I have no need to frequen. A topless beach :). Yes, of course pregnancy 2 can affect you differently. My skin didn't snap back after kid2 the way it did with kid1. It pisses me off in the summer.
  • I only got them with my second pregnancy. My second DS was born at 37 weeks 6 days and was 8lbs 10oz though-he was ginormous. The good news is, once I lost all of the weight and my stomach went back to normal, the stretch marks weren't visible anymore. Congrats on having another boy :-) MH and I didn't agree on boy names with either pregnancy (we did not find out the sex with either) and both boys did not have a name until after they were born.
  • Me :( I didn't get any with #1 and my tummy skin snapped right back to normal. Nit so much after #2. I only got a few tiny ones on one hip, but I was freaking out the entire pregnancy that they were going to explode. Fwiw, they are pretty much invisible now, 2.5 yrs later.

    .

This. All of this. I have one right on the underside of my right bewbie, but thats about it. It showed up early, like 16 weeks or something. But it was all i got.

And yeah, totally second the fact that my skin took longer to tighten back up with #2. I had 2 under 2 though, so not sure if that made a difference or not.

  • Didn't get them with #1or #2, but got them with # 3 .. I was pretty dissapointed .
