I want to have a home-birth (I really feel uncomfortable in hospitals), but I just called my insurance company to see if they cover it and they said no, but they do cover birth in a birthing center. When I asked them for a list of birthing centers, they said they don't have one. How helpful!
Anyone know of any birthing centers in NJ?

I too dread hospitals. Just the smell of alcohol makes me queasy...
I "googled" birthing centers, nj and found the following links:
https://www.avalonmidwives.com/

https://www.childbirthcenter.net/index.php/get-directions
Hope this helps
None of those are free standing births centers. The 1st and 3rd are midwifery goups that attend births in hospitals. I don't even think the 2nd place has midwives (it's just a hospital maternity unit)!
As a PP posted out, there are no free standing birth centers in NJ; there are only hospital maternity floors that try to pass themselves off as "childbirth centers."
I believe NY has birthing centers if you are near there. If you are near South Jersey, there are a couple birth centers in PA and one in Delaware.
