When did you stop burping after feeds?

DS gets terrible gas after all his feeds: bottle or bf.  I keep him upright for 20 mins after every feed to make sure he burps and he pretty much burps big time all the time.  I tried to keep him upright while feeding (at least for his daytime feedings).  Just wondering when you stopped burping your LOs?

I still try to. I'd say I only get a burp now maybe 25% of the time.

I'd say around 6 or 7 months.  It was a natural progression.  She started burping on her own.

DD is 4m now, & I'm only burping sporadically.  I eliminated the burping session after the nighttime feeding first (because it always woke her up!).  Since she did okay with that, I stopped routinely doing it after every feeding.  Now I'll just do it when she's fussy or if I think about it.  She does fine.    (DH, on the other hand, LOVES to burp her, so he'll do it even when she hasn't been fed!)

Around 2-3 m adjusted I stopped burping at night once we got the side laying nursing down. If I'm giving her a bottle, I'll still burp her after she's done, but usually she'll burp on her own just by moving around.
