Preemies

Reference books or blogs?

Are there any good books or blogs out there that address acid reflux and sleep training for a preemie baby?  I know there're many good sleep training books like Ferber and many others but I'm curious to know how these apply to a premature baby and also a baby that suffers from acid reflux.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Reference books or blogs?

  • We have several books listed in our Preemie Resource Blog (see siggy) - but no specific book geared towards preemies/sleep. I have read most sleep books and they all mention that preemies are a special case and should be treated as their pedi says/age adjusted. Prems have a verrrryyyy long NB phase and can't be sleep trained for a while.
  • I think I've heard of a reflux book but can't think of it at the moment - I Google acid reflux preemie and read other message board posts that come up. It's interesting. Many of our LO's have it so feel free to ask questions here :) I think WTE has a specific reflux/GERD board.

  • Thanks!  I'm not looking to sleep train yet, more so that I want to read what to expect as she keeps growing.  Especially trying to figure out if she developing good or bad habits.  Reflux makes sleeping a bit more difficult (incline, holding upright for 30 mins at least), I didn't know if anyone had written a book about it.  I will google, per your suggestion.

    thanks!
