I have an 18 month old son and am 15 weeks pregnant with our second. I know the second time around is different bu I keep waiting to feel really excited this time or to feel really bonded with this baby. I'm sure part of it is running after my toddler all the time, but I still worry that I'm not as excited as I was with my first. Has anyone else gone through this? We're finding out the gender in 4 weeks and I'm hoping that will help me feel more connected to this new baby. Any advice?
Re: Apprehensive about 2
Its really normal what you're feeling. I never really bonded with my 2nd pregnancy. I was happy to be having another baby but it definitely was not the same feeling as my first pregnancy.
During your first pregnancy, you can spend all your time focusing on it. When you have another child to tend to, it takes away from that.
I felt connected to my DD once she arrived, though.
definitely normal and as you get farther into the pg; you know what you are getting yourself into and what to expect and its like OMG....what did we do. Adding a second has its moments, but definitely so much more enjoyable the second time around enjoying the baby moments.
You will also have a helping with your current child being older then my ds1 was when ds2 was born and that should be a great helpt to you too.
