addicted to her swing

I posted earlier about long naps & imagine that... after waking up to eat, she is fast asleep again. But wouldn't fall asleep until put in her swing. After about 30 minutes of crying.

I am starting to get worried that she will only sleep in her swing. She will sleep short periods in her pnp (an hour at most) but she'll sleep all night in her swing. I've tried feeding a bottle & waiting until she's completely asleep on me before putting her into her crib. I've heated the sheet with a heating pad so the coolness doesn't shock her awake. She tends to spit up when laid flat on her back & that wakes her up.  Has anyone else experienced this? How did you correct it (if you did)?

I know a lot can happen in a few weeks - but we are going to FL for Christmas & I'm worried we won't sleep the whole time we're down there because they don't have her swing.

Re: addicted to her swing

  • My LO sleeps in his Rock 'n' Play sleeper at night right now, but I've been trying to start doing naps in his crib. He has reflux, and spits up when he's flat on his back also. I found this, and I think I'm going to buy one soon, before we start transitioning him to his crib at night. From what I understand, it's the same width as the crib, so they won't roll off the edge or anything. It just goes under the crib sheet and helps keep them elevated. I haven't tried it yet, but I would think it would help spitter uppers like ours! Pretty inexpensive too!
